L’Ape Operaia: instancabile lavoratrice

The Worker Bee: tireless worker

The worker bee is the true engine of the hive. A sterile female, she performs numerous tasks throughout her life, which change with age. In her early days, she cleans the cells and cares for the larvae; later, she produces royal jelly and wax, builds the honeycombs, and defends the hive entrance.

In the final stage of its life, it becomes a forager: it goes out in search of nectar, pollen, water, and propolis. It is at this stage that it also performs the fundamental function of pollination.

The life of a worker bee is short, especially during the productive season, but its contribution is essential. Every drop of honey is the result of thousands of flights and extraordinary coordinated effort.

The worker bee represents the perfect example of collective dedication and natural cooperation.
